Dr. Parnell is a family physician. His vast experiences in the medical profession and passion for the promotion of health and wellness led him to the founding of Dulcimer Medical Center. He is deeply committed to quality patient care.

The Parnell family lives in Fairmont, Minnesota, where Steve and Donna raised their five children. It was their firstborn, Tim, whose passion for the hammered dulcimer instrument inspired the name "Dulcimer Medical Center." He died unexpectedly at age 22. They also have four daughters. Becky is married to Jon, Mechanical Engineer for Collins Aerospace, has three children, Ben, Amelia and Samuel, and works as a Family Nurse Practitioner at the Dulcimer. Kellie, who earned her Masters Degree in Education and husband Nate Reyelts, a Physician Assistant at Dulcimer, live in Fairmont and together they are raising their 7 children Annie, Evan, Collin, Julia, Mollie, Lauren and Bethanie. Stephanie graduated with her Art and Graphic/Interior Design degree from Northwestern College in Orange City IA. She is married Jared Schafer and have two boys, Owen and Levi. She free lances during the evenings and is a phlebotomist/lab assistant at the Dulcimer Medical Center during the day. Megan also graduated from Northwestern College with a degree in Business Administration and Marketing and is now employed by Bank Midwest here in Fairmont. She and her husband Jason have four children, Emma, Eli, Josie and Clara. Donna is not only Dr. Parnell's helpmate as wife and best friend, but is also on staff at Dulcimer and uses her Medical Technology background to run the laboratory.

Dr. Parnell is motivated by his strong Christian faith and a desire to serve the "Great Physician." He is Board Certified by the American Academy of Family Practice and Board Certified by the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine.

Education

Dr. Parnell earned his undergraduate degree at Southwest State University in Marshall, Minnesota. He earned his medical degree at the Mayo Medical School in Rochester, Minnesota and is Board Certified in Family Medicine. Not satisfied with the status quo, he is always looking for better ways to help people.

Amy resides in her native town of Sherburn, MN. She has three children: Ty and twins Isabella and Slade. Amy enjoys spending time with her children and keeping busy with their multiple activities. She loves relaxing by the lake and camping.

Amy enjoys Dulcimer's family and team centered atmosphere. The environment is comforting and welcoming, putting the patients at ease, making it a safe place to discuss concerns and conditions openly.

Education

Amy earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing at South Dakota State University and her Master of Science in nursing from Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Rebekah Boer is a Registered Nurse and also a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She worked four years in Newborn Intensive Care prior to joining this practice so has a special interest in the care of newborns and also breastfeeding counseling and support. She provides a wide spectrum of medical care for all ages. Bekah is available to see patients on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays every other week.

Bekah grew up in Fairmont, MN, but now lives in Lakeville, MN, with her husband, Jon and three children. Benjamin, Amelia and Samuel keep her very busy when she is not in the clinic. She enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, playing music, and traveling.

Education

Rebekah earned her undergraduate degree at Bethel College in St. Paul, Minnesota and her Masters of Science degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Taylor resides in Fairmont, MN with her husband Zach and their daughters Eden and Hattie. Taylor has worked as an Obstetrical and Intensive Care Unit nurse over the past 4.5 years before going back to school for her Nurse Practitioner degree. She has a strong interest in women's health, pediatrics, geriatric care, as well as prenatal and postpartum care and education. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, being outdoors, music, and doing CrossFit.

Taylor will divide her time between the clinic and in-home provider visits. She strongly believes in working as a team with her patients to not only treat them when they are feeling ill, but also to provide preventative care to keep them healthy and well.

Taylor received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Rasmussen University in Mankato, MN and her Master of Science in Nursing from Morningside University in Sioux City, Iowa. She is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Samantha was born and raised in Southeastern Iowa. She and Jim Farnum were married in 2003 and have since welcomed three beautiful children, Alexa, Ethan and Cierra. Samantha worked as an obstetrical nurse in Grand Rapids, Michigan and then Pella, Iowa. She then began working in the clinic under a family practice physician and also went back to school for her nurse practitioner degree. In her spare time Samantha likes to read, crochet, garden and spend time outdoors fishing and hunting with her family.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas and her Masters of Science in Nursing from Clarkson College Omaha, Nebraska.

Lisa lives near Blue Earth with her husband Matt, and two sons Drake and Gage. She has over 15 years of nursing experience before going back to school for her nurse practitioner degree. In her spare time, she enjoys being at the lake, boating, camping, and watching her kids activities.

Lisa earned her nursing degree from Iowa Lakes Community College, her bachelor's and master's degree from Rasmussen College, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Winona State University in Rochester, MN.

Nate and his wife Kellie were married in June of 2008. Since then, they have welcomed seven children into their family: Annie, Evan, Collin, Julia, Mollie, Lauren and Bethanie. Nate and Kellie enjoy active outdoor activities, gardening, bee keeping, being active in their church and spending time with their families. Nate also enjoys playing guitar, golf, and being a husband and father. As son-in-law to Dr. Steve and Donna Parnell, he enjoys working with family.

Nate graduated in 2001 from Augustana College with a Bachelor of Arts. In 2004, he graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center with a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies.

Kaylynn grew up in Fairmont, and is married to her husband Lee. They welcomed a baby boy, Luther, in February 2015 and a baby girl, Iris, February 2017. She enjoys spending time with her family, relaxing at the lake, spending time outdoors, and reading.

Kaylynn attended Drake University and graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology. She attended University of Nebraska Medical Center where she received a Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2010.

Sara has over Twenty years of nursing experience, with previous experience in Medical/Surgical/Critical Care, urology, and oral surgery.

Sara and her husband Jim live in Fairmont and have two children, Jackson and Anna.

In her free time, Sara enjoys attending her kids activities, golfing, boating, walking, and attending Zumba classes. In addition, Sara sings soprano at St. Paul's Church and is on the Altar Guild.

Education

Sara attended Winona State University and earned her nursing degree from Iowa Lakes Community College.

Stacy grew up in Huntley, Minnesota. She currently resides in Eash Chain, Minnesota with husband Tim, son Logan and daughter Kenlie.

She has over twenty five years of nursing experience in the areas of long term care, family medicine and internal medicine.

In her free time, Stacy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, camping and traveling.

Education

Stacy earned her LPN degree from Minnesota West in 1994 and RN degree in 2004. Most recently earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Rasmussen College in 2015.

Kate Smith is a Registered Nurse who graduated from Bemidji State University in Bemidji, MN.

She lives in Fairmont with her husband Terry and their three children, Nolan, Jax and Joslyn.

Her free time is spent with family and friends.

Wendy is a licensed practical nurse with more than 30 years of nursing experience working in various specialties of health care.

She is the coordinator of the Mankato Outreach program that brings the specialists of Mankato Clinic to Dulcimer and fills in the other staff LPNs.

Wendy Lives near Huntley, MN on the Howard family farm site with her husband Dean. They have two children, Jeremy and Kiesha who both live in Fairmont.

Wendy enjoys being a mother and grandmother, reading and expressing her artistic side in various Medias.

Wendy is a nursing graduate from Austin Vocational associated with St. Olaf Hospital, Austin, MN.

Lisa Fessler is a licensed practical nurse. She has worked in health care since 1980 - most of that time with Dr. Parnell.

She has three children: Joseph, Luke, and Olivia. Lisa loves spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys camping, riding motorcycle and reading.

Elizabeth is a Medical Assistant who graduated from Presentation College in Fairmon, Minnesota

She is lives in rural Ceylon with her husband Jon and their four daughters, Johanna, Bryanna, Adilene, and Lena.

When Elizabeth isn't busy at work she loves spending time with her family and friends. She also likes to watch her girls in all their activities.

Elizabeth is a graduate of Presentation College.

Victoria is a college graduate from Rasmussen University of Mankato. She has lived in Fairmont for ten years moving here from the state of Oklahoma. Victoria enjoys helping others and has a ton of patient care experience. She has worked in Memory Care facilities around the Martin County area helping the elderly.

Outside of of work she enjoys chasing around her son who is full of energy, and spending time with family. Being this is her first job working at a clinic she is excited to make strong connections with staff and the patient's she cares for.

Victoria graduated college from Rasmussen with a Medical Assisting Certificate.

As Business Office Manager, Jill brings extensive experience in healthcare billing and management. She enjoys meeting and assisting patients at Dulcimer.

Jill and her husband, Mike, live near Armstrong and have two daughters.

Judi has worked as a medical billing specialist since 1992 after receiving her training at the Albert Lea Technical College. She enjoys helping patients with any billing questions.

Judi and her husband Donald live in Blue Earth, Minnesota. They have four children, four grandchildren, and 3 step-grandchildren. Judi enjoys spending time with her family, grandchildren and their sporting events along with friends.

Kris grew up and lives in Fairmont. She married her husband Terry in October 2018. They enjoy the being outdoors, fishing, and especially sitting out by the fire.

She has close to 30 years in the medical field billing and customer service.

Sydnea was born in Menomonie, Wisconsin and raised in Fairmont, Minnesota. She went to Fairmont High School and met her high school sweetheart Thomas. She and Thomas got married September 24, 2022. She enjoys spending time with family and friends as they are most important to her. With the rest of her free time Sydnea enjoys traveling around the world and relaxing at the lake.

Sydnea attended Bethany Lutheran College and graduated in 2022 with a degree in Health Communications.

Megan is very excited to be part of the Dulcimer Family. She is has recentley graduated from SDSU with a bachelors degree in AG Science. Orginally from Waconia, Megan has moved down the fairmont in the fall of 2022. She enjoies spending time on the farm, going ot the cabin and being outdoors.

Sydney grew up in Ringsted, IA and currently resides in Jackson, MN. She attened NIACC in Mason City, IA and received a major in Human and Public Services and a minor in Medical Administrative Assistant. In her free time she enjoys spending time outdoors, going on walks, and spending time with family and friends.

Amanda enjoys meeting and working with patients of all ages. She loves spending time with family and friends, and also likes to ride her Harley, "Pearl". Amanda is an avid Iowa Hawkeye, Cubs, and Bears fan! Besides finding Amanda in the Ultrasound/Xray area, you may find her hanging out in the lab where she fills in for the phlebotomist when needed.

Amanda received her degree in radiology from Iowa Central Community College.

Donna is a Medical Technologist certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and oversees all lab functions at Dulcimer. She worked as a Mycology Specialist at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and in a hospital setting where she gained extensive experience in all aspects of lab operations. She also has experience teaching medical technician students.

Donna is married to Dr. Steve Parnell whom she met while they both attended Southwest State University in Marshall, Minnesota. They began their married life in Rochester. Donna was glad to be able to put her career on hold to raise their children and equally glad to once again use her skills in a clinical laboratory setting.

Together they raised their five children in Fairmont where they have lived since 1982. She enjoys being Nana to her grandchildren, cooking, gardening and enjoying her family. She loves that the harmony they have experienced in their family is also enjoyed in the workplace.

Stephanie was born and raised in Fairmont. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Art and Graphic Design from Northwestern College in Orange City, IA. She returned to Fairmont after graduation and since 2012 now uses her artistic abilities and people skills in the lab as Dulcimer's main phlebotomist (known to her patients as their blood sucker, vampire, leech!!) and keeps patients young and old at ease while having their blood drawn.

On October 7, 2017 she married, Jared Schafer. They have two little boys, Owen and Levi. In their free time they love being with family and spoiling all of their nieces and nephews. Stephanie enjoys fishing, woodworking, outdoor activites, bee keeping, and being a mom!

Courtney grew up in Fairmont and has returned after she finished school at Southeast Technical Institute. She comes to us with tons of experience from working in a variety of other labs. After moving away, she and her husband Casey decided to move back to Fairmont.

Since moving back Courtney, Casey, daughter Della, Son Ridley and dog Jack enjoy relaxing on the lake and spending time with family and friends. Courtney loves playing volleyball and helps coach girls basketball here in Fairmont.

Courtney received her degree from Southeast Technical Institute.

Dan lives on an acreage north of Fairmont with his beautiful wife Pam. He has three grown children and five grandchildren that he loves to spoil. His hobbies are never ending but a few of his favorites would include gardening, being outdoors and spending time with family and friends.

At Dulcimer, Dan enjoys the time spent keeping the Clinic and Fairmont Family Dentistry clean and healthy for the providers and patients.
