Steven E. Parnell, MD

Dr. Parnell is a family physician. His vast experiences in the medical profession and passion for the promotion of health and wellness led him to the founding of Dulcimer Medical Center. He is deeply committed to quality patient care.

The Parnell family lives in Fairmont, Minnesota, where Steve and Donna raised their five children. It was their firstborn, Tim, whose passion for the hammered dulcimer instrument inspired the name "Dulcimer Medical Center." He died unexpectedly at age 22. They also have four daughters. Becky is married to Jon, Mechanical Engineer for Collins Aerospace, has three children, Ben, Amelia and Samuel, and works as a Family Nurse Practitioner at the Dulcimer. Kellie, who earned her Masters Degree in Education and husband Nate Reyelts, a Physician Assistant at Dulcimer, live in Fairmont and together they are raising their 7 children Annie, Evan, Collin, Julia, Mollie, Lauren and Bethanie. Stephanie graduated with her Art and Graphic/Interior Design degree from Northwestern College in Orange City IA. She is married Jared Schafer and has a son, Owen. She free lances during the evenings and is a phlebotomist/lab assistant at the Dulcimer Medical Center during the day. Megan also graduated from Northwestern College with a degree in Business Administration and Marketing and is now employed by Bank Midwest here in Fairmont. She and her husband Jason have two children, Emma and Eli. Donna is not only Dr. Parnell's helpmate as wife and best friend, but is also on staff at Dulcimer and uses her Medical Technology background to run the laboratory.

Dr. Parnell is motivated by his strong Christian faith and a desire to serve the "Great Physician." He is Board Certified by the American Academy of Family Practice and Board Certified by the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine.



Dr. Parnell earned his undergraduate degree at Southwest State University in Marshall, Minnesota. He earned his medical degree at the Mayo Medical School in Rochester, Minnesota and is Board Certified in Family Medicine. Not satisfied with the status quo, he is always looking for better ways to help people.

Richard Erbes, D.P.M.
Podiatric Surgeon

Dr. Erbes has had 40 years practicing podiatry in NW Iowa and SW Minnesota. He sees patients with foot problems in Fairmont, Windom, and Estherville. Dr. Erbes and his wife, Leane, reside in Estherville, Iowa, and have been married for 22 years. Their family includes seven children and ten grandchildren (nine boys and one girl).



Dr. Erbes received his B.A. degree in 1974 from Wartburg College and his D.M.P. degree in 1978 from Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago.

Amy Fitzgerald, RN, MSN, C–FNP
Family Nurse Practitioner

Amy resides in her native town of Sherburn, MN. She has three children: Ty and twins Isabella and Slade. Amy enjoys spending time with her children and keeping busy with their multiple activities. She loves relaxing by the lake and camping.

Amy enjoys Dulcimer's family and team centered atmosphere. The environment is comforting and welcoming, putting the patients at ease, making it a safe place to discuss concerns and conditions openly.



Amy earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing at South Dakota State University and her Master of Science in nursing from Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Rebekah Boer, RN, MSN, C-FNP
Family Nurse Practitioner

Rebekah Boer is a Registered Nurse and also a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She worked four years in Newborn Intensive Care prior to joining this practice so has a special interest in the care of newborns and also breastfeeding counseling and support. She provides a wide spectrum of medical care for all ages. Bekah is available to see patients on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays every other week.

Bekah grew up in Fairmont, MN, but now lives in Lakeville, MN, with her husband, Jon and three children. Benjamin, Amelia and Samuel keep her very busy when she is not in the clinic. She enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, playing music, and traveling.



Rebekah earned her undergraduate degree at Bethel College in St. Paul, Minnesota and her Masters of Science degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Carolyn Drevlow, RN, MSN, C–FNP
Family Nurse Practitioner

Carolyn and her husband, Darrel, are originally from Truman and still reside there with their daughters, Ciera and Brytni. She enjoys spending time with family and friends when not at work. Carolyn also loves spending time at their camper.

Carolyn divides her time between the clinic and doing in-home provider visits. In the clinic she sees patients of all ages and provides diabetic education.

Since 2014, Carolyn has provided in-home visits for assisted living facilities. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Carolyn had a lot of experience in geriatric nursing. This prior experience has enhanced her passion to work with geriatric patients. Carolyn’s down-to-earth bedside manner puts patients at ease immediately.

Carolyn’s goal is to allow access for comprehensive healthcare to residents of assisted living facilities without the resident leaving the comfort of their home.



Carolyn earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Winona State University in Winona, Minnesota. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Samantha Farnum, RN, MSN, C-FNP
Family Nurse Practitioner

Samantha was born and raised in Southeastern Iowa. She and Jim Farnum were married in 2003 and have since welcomed three beautiful children, Alexa, Ethan and Cierra. Samantha worked as an obstetrical nurse in Grand Rapids, Michigan and then Pella, Iowa. She then began working in the clinic under a family practice physician and also went back to school for her nurse practitioner degree. In her spare time Samantha likes to read, crochet, garden and spend time outdoors fishing and hunting with her family.



She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas and her Masters of Science in Nursing from Clarkson College Omaha, Nebraska.

Sara Hugoson, RN, MSN, C-FNP
Family Nurse Practitioner

Sara is passionate about patient-centered care and is excited to build relationships with her patients and their families. Sara enjoys partnering with patients to develop health plans that fit their individual concerns, preferences, and values. Her special medical interests include pediatric and adolescent health, health promotion, and disease prevention. Sara lives in Fairmont with her husband Eric and their dog Riley. She enjoys traveling, reading, baking, and being outdoors. Being a Wisconsin native, she still cheers for the Packers but we won't hold that against her!



She received her Master of Science in Nursing from Georgetown University and is board certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Nate Reyelts, PA-C
Physician Assistant Certified

Nate and his wife Kellie were married in June of 2008. Since then, they have welcomed seven children into their family: Annie, Evan, Collin, Julia, Mollie, Lauren and Bethanie. Nate and Kellie enjoy active outdoor activities, gardening, bee keeping, being active in their church and spending time with their families. Nate also enjoys playing guitar, golf, and being a husband and father. As son-in-law to Dr. Steve and Donna Parnell, he enjoys working with family.



Nate graduated in 2001 from Augustana College with a Bachelor of Arts. In 2004, he graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center with a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies.

Kaylynn Steinkamp, PA-C
Physician Assistant Certified

Kaylynn grew up in Fairmont, and is married to her husband Lee. They welcomed a baby boy, Luther, in February 2015 and a baby girl, Iris, February 2017. She enjoys spending time with her family, relaxing at the lake, spending time outdoors, and reading.



Kaylynn attended Drake University and graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology. She attended University of Nebraska Medical Center where she received a Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2010.


Lori Zoeller, LPN
Licensed Practical Nurse / Head Nurse

Lori is a licensed practical nurse with experience working in both long term care and family medicine.

Lori is married to Keith Zoeller. She moved to Fairmont in 1987 after growing up in DeSmet, South Dakota with her three siblings. Lori enjoys spending time with her family and friends and working on remodeling projects in her home.


Lori received her LPN license from South Central Technical College in North Mankato.


Sara Utermarck, RN
Registered Nurse

Sara has over fifteen years of nursing experience with previous experience in Medical/Surgical/CCU, oral surgery, and urology.

Sara and her husband Jim live in Fairmont and have two children, Jackson and Anna.

In her free time, Sara enjoys attending her kids’ activities, and also volunteering at their school. Sara is also in adult choir, Altar Guild, and Eve Circle at St. Paul's Church. Zumba, Jazz, and Tap dancing fill her free time.


Sara attended Winona State University and earned her nursing degree from Iowa Lakes Community College.

Stacy Pytleski, RN BSN
Registered Nurse / Bachelor of Science

Stacy grew up in Huntley, Minnesota. She currently resides in Eash Chain, Minnesota with husband Tim, son Logan and daughter Kenlie.

She has twenty years of nursing experience in the areas of long term care, family medicine and internal medicine.

In her free time, Stacy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, attending children's high school and college sporting events, reading, camping and traveling.


Stacy earned her LPN degree from Minnesota West in 1994 and RN degree in 2004. Most recently earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Rasmussen College in 2015.

Robynn Buhmann, LPN
Licensed Practical Nurse

Robynn joined the Dulcimer Medical Center family in fall 2012. She has experience in OB and Newborn Care and has worked in a clinic setting in the past.

Robyn and her husband Brad live in Fairmont and have two children. As a family they enjoy local sporting events that the children participate in.

Robyn loves working in a warm caring environment where everyone is comfortable with each other. She considers herself lucky enough her whole career to never have to go to work, because she love what she does and doesn't consider it work! Besides being a nurse she love being a mother and wife.

She and Brad enjoy boating and fishing on the lakes in Martin County.



Graduated from nursing scool in 1992 (incidentally the same year she met her husband on Valentines Day), Robyn has worked with Dr. Schavey and Dr. Parnell in OB for 18 years and now at the Dulcimer Medical Center.

Wendy Howard, LPN
Licensed Practical Nurse

Wendy is a licensed practical nurse with more than 30 years of nursing experience working in various specialties of health care.

She is the coordinator of the Mankato Outreach program that brings the specialists of Mankato Clinic to Dulcimer and fills in the other staff LPNs.

Wendy Lives near Huntley, MN on the Howard family farm site with her husband Dean. They have two children, Jeremy and Kiesha who both live in Fairmont.

Wendy enjoys being a mother and grandmother, reading and expressing her artistic side in various Medias.



Wendy is a nursing graduate from Austin Vocational associated with St. Olaf Hospital, Austin, MN.

Lisa Fessler, LPN
Licensed Practical Nurse

Lisa Fessler is a licensed practical nurse. She has worked in health care since 1980—most of that time with Dr. Parnell.

She has three children: Joseph, Luke, and Olivia. Lisa loves spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys camping, riding motorcycle and reading.

Peggy Wille, LPN
Licensed Practical Nurse

Peggy is a licensed practical nurse with more than 30 years of experience working in health care.

She married her husband Alan in 1980 and they currently live northwest of Fairmont where Alan operates their grain farm. They have two grown daughters and two sons all who have come back to live in the Fairmont/Sherburn area.

Peggy's hobbies are reading, cheering on her children at their sporting events, watching movies, fishing, and spending time with her grandchildren and kids. She is living her childhood dream of becoming a nurse.


Peggy is a graduate of St. Mary's School of Practical Nursing in Rochester, Minnesota.

Elizabeth Petschke, MA
Medical Assistant

Elizabeth is a Medical Assistant who graduated from Presentation College in Fairmon, Minnesota

She is lives in rural Ceylon with her husband Jon and their four daughters, Johanna, Bryanna, Adilene, and Lena.

When Elizabeth isn't busy at work she loves spending time with her family and friends. She also likes to watch her girls in all their activities.


Elizabeth is a graduate of Presentation College.

Jill Irmiter
Business Office Manager

As Business Office Manager, Jill brings extensive experience in healthcare billing and management. She enjoys meeting and assisting patients at Dulcimer.

Jill and her husband, Mike, live near Armstrong and have two daughters.

Judi Kuchenbecker
Medical Billing Specialist

Judi has worked as a medical billing specialist since 1992 after receiving her training at the Albert Lea Technical College. She enjoys helping patients with any billing questions.

Judi and her husband Donald live in Blue Earth, Minnesota. They have four children, four grandchildren, and 3 step-grandchildren. Judi enjoys spending time with her family, grandchildren and their sporting events along with friends.

Jody Benes
Medical Coding Specialist

Jody has been a Medical Coder for 16 years. She and her husband live in East Chain with their two boys. Jody enjoys spending time with her family and watching her boys play sports.

Lorie Nuss
Medical Scribe

Lorie has worked in the medical industry for 18 years. She has worked in the areas of appointment scheduling, business office, finance and now is a medical scribe for Dulcimer Medical Center. Lorie lives in Fairmont with her husband Scott and their two children, Taylor and Tony. In her free time she enjoys attending her children's sporting events.

Phyllis Crouch
Admissions/Appointment Scheduling

Phyllis has more than 20 years of experience working in a medical office as a Director of Admissions/Appointment Scheduling. She takes pride in being part of the Dulcimer family and making sure all patients feel cared for and respected.

Phyllis and her husband Brian live on Iowa lake. They have two grown children. In their spare time Phyllis and Brian enjoy spending time on the lake and with family and friends.

Pam Coquyt
Patient Relations/Scheduling

Pam brings to the Dulcimer Medical Center 22 years of experience as a registration/scheduling coordinator. She and her husband Dan live on an acreage north of Fairmont where they raise fainting goats as pets to sell. Together they have three grown children and five grandchildren. Her hobbies include spending time with family, gardening, and reading.

Jessica Omvig
Patient Relations/Scheduling

Jessica has four years experience in appointment scheduling. She is a people person and is excited to be part of a wonderful team.

Jessica and her husband Val live in Sherburn with their twins Raef and Emma. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and also doing crafts.

Amanda Morris, RT(R)
Registered Radiology Technologist with experience in Mammography, CT, and Ultrasound

Amanda enjoys meeting and working with patients of all ages. She loves spending time with family and friends, and also likes to ride her Harley, "Pearl". Amanda is an avid Iowa Hawkeye, Cubs, and Bears fan! Besides finding Amanda in the Ultrasound/Xray area, you may find her hanging out in the lab where she fills in for the phlebotomist when needed.


Amanda received her degree in radiology from Iowa Central Community College.

Donna Parnell, MT (ASCP)
Medical Technologist
Department Director – Dulcimer Clinical Lab

Donna is a Medical Technologist certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and oversees all lab functions at Dulcimer. She worked as a Mycology Specialist at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and in a hospital setting where she gained extensive experience in all aspects of lab operations. She also has experience teaching medical technician students.

Donna is married to Dr. Steve Parnell whom she met while they both attended Southwest State University in Marshall, Minnesota. They began their married life in Rochester. Donna was glad to be able to put her career on hold to raise their children and equally glad to once again use her skills in a clinical laboratory setting.

Together they raised their five children in Fairmont where they have lived since 1982. She enjoys being Nana to her grandchildren, cooking, gardening and enjoying her family. She loves that the harmony they have experienced in their family is also enjoyed in the workplace.



Donna received her B.S. in Medical Technology from Southwest State University in Marshall, Minnesota.

Stephanie Schafer
Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist

Stephanie was born and raised in Fairmont. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Art and Graphic Design from Northwestern College in Orange City, IA. She returned to Fairmont after graduation and since 2012 now uses her artistic abilities and people skills in the lab as Dulcimer's main phlebotomist (known to her patients as their blood sucker, vampire, leech!!) and keeps patients young and old at ease while having their blood drawn.

On October 7, 2017 she married, Jared Schafer. They have two little boys, Owen and Levi. In their free time they love being with family and spoiling all of their nieces and nephews. Stephanie enjoys fishing, woodworking, outdoor activites, bee keeping, and being a mom!

Courtney Schoellerman

Courtney grew up in Fairmont and has returned after she finished school at Southeast Technical Institute. She comes to us with tons of experience from working in a variety of other labs. After moving away, she and her husband Casey decided to move back to Fairmont.

Since moving back Courtney, Casey and their daughter Della and dog Jack enjoy relaxing on the lake and spending time with family and friends. Courtney loves playing volleyball and helps coach girls basketball here in Fairmont.



Courtney received her degree from Southeast Technical Institute.

Dan Coquyt
Environmental Specialist

Dan lives on an acreage north of Fairmont with his beautiful wife Pam. He has three grown children and five grandchildren that he loves to spoil. His hobbies are never ending but a few of his favorites would include gardening, being outdoors and spending time with family and friends.

At Dulcimer, Dan enjoys the time spent keeping the Clinic and Fairmont Family Dentistry clean and healthy for the providers and patients.
